Sixth Day releases their new single 'Run'

The Manchester-based band's new song is out now...

Sixth Day band

From the rise of indie legends like The Stone Roses, The Smiths and Oasis, Manchester’s music scene has always been a force to be reckoned with. Now, Sixth Day, a fresh and vibrant sound from the streets of the iconic city, are carving their own path on the music scene.

'Run' is everything from energetic, bold, and catchy to reflective. Its upbeat tune combined with its honest lyrics gives the song a feel that will have you addicted!

Through lyricism, it tells an honest story about somebody trying to communicate to their partner that they are doing their utmost. Alex Nuttall, the lead vocalist, said the protagonist is "maybe not being the person their other half wants them to be, and that's killing both of them inside."

In a swipe-left society, expressing our authentic selves to one another can be difficult. The song captures the sentiment perfectly, resonating with listeners. This is definitely one to add to your playlist.

Embracing their Northern roots, the boys were inspired by the iconic bands Oasis, Vant, and Arctic Monkeys when they were writing the song.

The impactful opening line "Run, run, run, run before the lights come on" was written by Alex, who initially came up with the framework of the song at home. However, the song truly came to life when the five members collaborated on their ideas together.

This is a track that would undeniably get a crowd moving at a gig. Listeners jumping up and down, repeatedly waving their hair around as they shout along to the explosive chorus, kicking to the drum beats.

If you haven't already listened to Sixth Day, you are seriously missing out! Since forming the band, they have achieved an incredible amount, from selling out their debut gig at Gillivers to catching the attention of Manchester's most popular radio stations. Their songs have been played on BBC Manchester and XS Manchester.

If you enjoy listening to indie music and want to stay ahead of popular trends, you should start listening now; the band has a promising future ahead.
